A pair of shoes can change your life. Just ask Cinderella.

OK, so shoes have been on my mind lately.  (When are they not?)  But specifically, shoes to buy for my upcoming trip to Paris.

Of course comfort was my primary concern, since walking is my favorite way to explore such a beautiful city, or really any city for that matter.  But comfort only gets a girl so far.  After all, we’re talking about Paris here.  As in, “Major-Fashion-Capital-of-the-World’ Paris.  As in “Tourists-Stick-Out-Like-a-Sore-Thumb” Paris.  So fashion had to be a very close secondary concern.

I narrowed down the style I wanted, keeping versatility in mind.  I have had good luck with this brand in the past, and they have really come a long way in separating themselves from a certain other brand with a standard European-sounding name. (Read: Børn)  Nothing against Børn, they make a comfortable shoe!, but they do so at the sake of fashion, IMHO.

So here is the shoe I found at Nordstrom (where else?):

I went to the Galleria to get them, but they didn’t have my size in the color I wanted.  I wanted a good, standard Black, but they also offer Pewter and a to-die-for Plum that I tried on for size.

They are being shipped and should be here soon.  I can’t wait to try them on with the outfits I’ve chosen for my trip.  I think I have already fallen in love with them, though, so whether or not they work out for Paris, they will be part of my wardrobe this Fall.

New shoes = me happy.
