Colorado 2011 – Day 3: This Place is a Zoo!

This cute little birdie built its nest on the underside of the back deck.  The deck is about 10 feet off the ground, and you can easily walk underneath it.  The space is used as a pass-through to the other side of the yard, and we had been down there for quite some time before I noticed her.

One of the things we did on the other side of the yard was this:

This doe lay resting in the shade for a long time.  She let us all get about 20 feet from her and watch her for a few minutes before getting nervous and slowly moving away.

We saw her first in the driveway

We knew she had gone around the house, but not sure where she went until we saw her resting in the shade.

Since this was our last day with our friends, Dylan the Chinchilla got to come out and play!

We were sad to leave, but this is what greeted us when we arrived at our cabin about an hour away:

That is a totally un-retouched photo.  Just nature.  And a beautiful reminder that God keeps His promises.

Stay tuned…. more vacation pics to come.  Bored yet?  😉

  2. Kim – Thanks so much for all your great comments! And for following my blog. I am such a newbie to all this!!! 😉
We have been to CO for the past 2 years. It's mind-boggling how beautiful it is. We tend toward SW CO. Last year, we did Silverton, Telluride, and Ouray. I never blogged about that…. maybe I should! I'm trying to be more consistent with writing. Thanks for the encouragement. 😉
